An Alternative New Year
Stuck for place to go during the festivities? For many, Chinese New Year is an occasion filled with foodstuffs, which at the very least are a little daunting.
If hair weed, lotus roots and trotters aren’t your thing or traditionalism just isn’t your strong suit this year, here are a couple of delicious alternatives for bringing in the New Year.
For a taste of fine Indian cuisine and the ideal location for a relaxed, family meal – Jashan are offering a 20% discount on their entire ala Carte menu during the New Year break. For those with an appetite, Jashan are also running a 2 for 1 mega buffet lunch deal from the 25th of January until the 10th of February!
If western cuisine is what you’re looking for, it’s worth venturing to Canucck, Elgin Street’s very own Canadian corner. Sumptuous meat dishes and a truly diverse variety that encompasses everything from foie gras to macaroni ‘n cheese! Offering buy 1 get 1 free on all appetisers and main courses, Canucck have certainly gotten into the festive spirit.
Celebrating the arrival of Chef Amar and the 30 years of experience he brings with him, Habibi will be enhancing their menu this New Year with a smattering of his favourite ‘Chef Amar’ dishes - a great place to while away an afternoon sipping mint tea and taking time over a selection of hot and cold mezze.
