The island’s first African lounge, Makumba has made a name for itself with its rhythmic live music every night. The beat of the African Zouk drum delivers afro jazz as well as world music, and the resident DJ spins the latest African AfroJazz, AfroPop, Mandingo, Tribal and Carribean tunes. If you feel the need for some lessons before you can actually rock out to the beats, those are also offered on some nights. For a taste of African culture, Makumba also offers a decent range of African-inspired cocktails, South African wines and some African snacks.
