Amazing Race For Nepal
Think of Nepal and immediately striking visual imagery of mystic mountains, adventure tourism and romantic escapes from the city come to mind, but for disadvantaged children and families, the harsh realities of life are vastly different.
Established in 1995, the Children’s Welfare Scheme has been working in Nepal to implement life saving programmes that support over 30,000 children and young families every year, through education, healthcare and social opportunities.
So this year, The CWS City Challenge was born, to raise awareness and support via an 'Amazing Race' style challenge this Saturday 18 February! Teams will be divided into three categories: school teams, corporate teams and general teams, with over 200 competitors expected to take part.
“It’s not just a race about speed but about skill, team spirit, general knowledge and strategic thinking all rolled into one fabulously fun afternoon for a great cause,” said organizer Zein Williams of CWS Hong Kong.

Competitors will tackle challenges like ‘Scale Mount Everest’ at a climbing gym, a Sherpa sprint up a set of stairs (in full costume), and making Nepalese dumplings, or 'Momos' (pictured, above) and a lassie, for example. Coins are given to the teams when they complete a challenge; the tougher the challenge the more the coins you’re rewarded with.
Refreshments will be served at the finish line and prize presentation will be at 5.30pm with the after party running until 7 pm. An impressive prize list includes Phuket Pavilions’ luxurious Villa's, a three-day home-stay at a beautiful farm house in Nepal, Macau Tower Bungee Jump, a dining experience at the famous Peninsula Hotel and many more!
A fun day out with a noble cause.
